Very insightful, full of meaning. One is able to sense the desperation call of "fix bayonets".The following are my favorite lines.
You tell us that our strength was sold
To help your country back
What evil times have carnage chosen
For judgment on this land

Hi deepwater. War poetry is my favourite type and I am a big fan of Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon. Superb imagery, ie, our dead will mock the searing heat. Well done

A very poignant depiction of a letter from a soldier.
It's an interesting poem with very good imagery. The picture looks like something from a scene of an old war movie.

You have created a powerful sense of these men in an economy of well crafted lines. Your words convey the unblinking acceptance of a harsh situation and an honest unflinching courage to do whatever must be done. This is an excellent piece of writing

Beautiful historical poetry deep' and typical of many war time writers. This though is as the others, unique and most reminiscent of the times and actions of war.
