Hello my friend
I remember the joy of getting the day off due to snow or anything else. It was awesome. Even getting a cold was worth it to stay home. LoL well done!

Hello JLR, another fine challenge well met. Who did not look forward to snow when they were kids? You have written a good free verse here with the perfect picture. 'Rubbing the stardust from my just opened eyes' - good use of metaphor. 'Dashing like Donner and Blitzen' - and
'Then, hopping like a bunny in a garden patch,' - good use of simile. An all round good read. Regards Dorothy x

Maybe that is the reason they call it a wonderful time of the year! A simple pleasure of playing in outdoors andspreading the Christmas cheer around. I enjoyed reading this well-written poem. Thanks for sharing!

JLR,
I like your nostalgic take on this photo. There's so much going on in the photo--your poem gives it justice. When I was younger, we used to sled down our road, hoping to stop in time to dodge the cars at the bottom of the hill. Miraculously, no one got hurt!
You've penned an excellent poem giving wonderful memories of winter.
Good luck.
Best wishes,
Cindy.

You captured the sense of childlike innocence in this poem, that feeling of being out in the snow as a child, enjoying the sleigh rides, the snowmen, the snow angels and the snowball fights of youth. Those snow forts, those cups of warm cocoa, those cookies waiting for you when you came back in...estory

Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written poem about having fun in the snow makes one forget about all the pains and aches we were complaining about just yesterday, and we will complain about tomorrow again.
