What a fine turn of affairs. This is an excellent chapter that reveals much more about Mason and his hold on those in high places. Miguel might benefit from the fact that he shot him, but that is an unknown for the moment. The next scene will be a telling scene.

Yes!! Mason is dead! Now get Annie away from Tito and bring them all down. There was a lot of money under the floorboards, and a gun! The book with all the scandalous deeds the townspeople have been getting up to, must have brought him thousands in blackmail money. Yes!! Mason is dead! Now get Annie away from Tito and bring them all down. There was a lot of money under the floorboards, and a gun! Great job with this final (final?) battle scene. You know I don't like the violence but what I found humorous was the reference to Clint Eastwood movies and how that played a part in taking Mason down. It's good that Miguel could finally see that his boss was too evil to work for.

Tito pushed the blade into the crack, but nothing came popped. Did you mean nothing came loose or nothing popped loose?
