" collision of aroma and taste bring my thoughts into
a deep longing for a hot mug of coffee as I walk through the
succulent flowering Sweetgrass back home."
How closely our senses are related as a whiff of something familiar, brings back memories of the past.

This lovely poem does indeed conjure up a desire for a cup of hot coffee, French Vanilla, especially. The warmth of the sun is also very appealing these days, when we are stuck in freezing temperatures. Thanks for sharing JLR

Love that sweetgrass! Georgia and Florida's shores have it in abundance. How I miss those strolls now as winter has settled in. Spring's not too far away, I tell myself. How I long to enjoy it again.
Splendid writing, Jay!
Sending you my best today as always,

Great entry for the club challenge! You made me curious about sweet grass but now I know what to expect if I should see them. I like how you blended the plant's aroma with the sight and smell of the sea.

' Sweetgrass ', is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

You have successfully created an image so clear that I can not only see it in front of me, but also imagine the smells that you write of. Congratulations on a very effective piece of writing.

This was a great free verse style poem. Best wishes in the contest. I loved the descriptive writing that allowed me to actually smell the vanilla beans as an aroma. Great job!

You have painted a beautiful scene! I wonder how serene it would be to sit at such a sight and write a comment for this poetry. Your words are well chosen and the poem flows smoothly.

Poetry really takes us to a different place or setting, simply to be able to linger and enjoy whatever may be happening there and this is achieved beautifully here as we are invited to share and appreciate the aromas
