The sepia picture shows the face of desperation in the present conflict. Ukrainians are Christian people jumped on by a would-be Hitler in the making. We can only imagine what they are going through, strong resilient people. Proud of their heritage. Pray for Ukraine. K xx

K Spot on! Pray upon bended knee for Ukraine - Pray that Putin will come to his senses and stop before this gets out of control and all of Europe gets overrun.

How right you are, in your author's comments. Statistics don't have pulses. Nor do they wail in grief, nor stand courageously and defiantly.
Putin is a madman intent on waging war against Ukraine for no reason other than a power grab. He's got a nuke trigger finger and we're all letting him bully us...for now. Love your poem. Resist indeed!

They are fighting so hard to save their country, Putin is a disgrace to the Human world. I wish we onlookers could do more than just using sanctions to stop him, I'd like to see our soldiers go in and stop it. But, Putin knows that won't happen, not while his finger is poised to press THE button and wipe us all out.

Sandra, yes I could not agree more with you were are shadow boxing at the expense of the Ukrainian people and I am so angry ... our leaders used to be about freedom and democracy for the world. Now it is just about greed and lining pockets with gold.

I can only imagine how scared needy the Ukrainians are. Russian bombed a maternity hospital the other day! I thank God the U.S. is helping SO much! These people are braver than Putin expected, I think. You've made good use of your 25 syllables in this timely piece.

Yes, My heart aches for the children whose psyche's are forever tainted by these acts of aggression.
