It seems the tensions will be building between Ali and Rogers. They all seem well protected, but I guess we will have to wait and see for sure. This is a great chapter. Best, JohnC.

Desperation brings desperate measures, it seems that Rogers might stop at nothing to clip Alexandra's wings, but I think combined with Cordero's family, he might have bitten off more than he can chew, beautifully written, love the series, blessings Roy

Security cameras are sure important if there are dishonest people around. This is getting to sound a little hairy with the mishaps and whatever else Alexandra is getting into. Hopefully, she'll be safe and not in danger.

Yeah, I wondered about the storm clouds. Getting more and more dramatic. Dramatic reading and keeps me going. No spags. You are pretty well my only source of good reading in here atm. Ulla wrote something about a friend's wife disappearing but I miss her regular stories.

Oh, the poor man must be frustrated by now. When will he get that kiss in? This takes place in 2020- 2022? Right? I know I'm a bit hard on you here, Barbara. Please do forgive me. I love the story, but it has to move with the times. All best, Ulla xx

I promise they will kiss. It hasn't been that many days and Ali is very old fashioned. She's been very hurt. Thank you for the kind review.

I just know that someday soon thing are going to come to a head and Pat Roberts is going to face a well deserved comeuppance. I can hardly wait. Oh and by the way, give Cor and Ali a break, let them enoy a steamy kiss for crying out loud. (Smiley face).

This chapter is fine. I'm probably nitpicking below:

"Yes." After a few moments, she said, "Cord?" He nodded so she continued, "Do you wish I wouldn't have pressed charges against Pat Rogers?" Before he could answer, she [continued,] "Your life would've been a lot less worrisome."

[So the word 'continued' won't be so close together in the same patch of dialogue, I thought letting the second one be, [Do you wish I wouldn't have pressed charges against Pat Rogers?" Before he could answer, she added, "your life....."

Thank you. I will change it. I try to catch those during editing and do miss them.

Tension for most of the chapter was released like a grateful sigh, but there is a big gulping inhale with Ali again being left home while her "Lamb" (Did you choose the name Cordero for that reason?) is out helping a neighbor ... and Rogers is still roaming about.

He now owners and managers the Lobo bank. [Add this to the other reviewer's responses: "He now OWNS and MANAGES the Lobo bank."]

She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. [Ah-ha! this is a landmark, and it wasn't even romantically presaged.]

"The area I wanted to take you is straight ahead." ["... to take you TO is straight ahead." Small, change, but without it he would be wanting to bring the area to her!]

I always feel great to have a six for your, Barbara!

Jay

Thank you for the catches. The first one I changed as I posted and still got it wrong. GRRR Yes, Cord's name is for a reason. You're the only one who caught it. You must speak Spanish.

I don't SPEAK Spanish. But I've been studying it on Duolingo for two and a half years. It was two lessons ago, that I learned the word for sheep. I thought, "I can't keep this to myself."

It's a good thing that Amy is going to talk to Ali about that settlement. Rogers has profited handsomely over the years, but Amy and her child have had to struggle. Rogers has gotten in so deep, things are sure to catch up to him, hopefully sooner rather than later. He is a menace. You spelled the word aide, but I think of that as referring to a person. Aid means giving assistance. You might rethink the reference to "knight in shining armor." That sounds out of date. Fun bit about Samson hiding under the bed, afraid of the storm. The approaching storm should make for more excitement. Great development, with lots of action promised. judi

When will they get to have their first kiss!!!!? Goodness me, I'd be a frustrated mess by now. I'm glad Ali is helping those women, and I'm sure she will be able to start her own business up in that town, she doesn't need to go back to the city. I'm loving this story, Barbara, but I'm worried something is going to go wrong. I'm looking forward to the next part. :)) Sandra xx
