You have brought this story to life with an understanding for all, I am not overly religious, but this story of the doubt of some that this could be so is excellent, very well written, and most enjoyable, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

I knew the story straight away...almost, I guess because initially you'd never spoken of a blind brother, how extraordinary that people like those Pharisees think as they do, not seeking after truth, but need it acquit and justify themselves through their prideful land self appointed righteousness, thank God there were men like Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimethea, who sought out Jesus. Beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

I liked how you brought the story of the blind man whom Jesus healed to life by giving him a name and a sibling who narrates the story. It wasn't even just the religious legalists who misunderstood. It was Jesus' own disciples who asked ""Who sinned, this man or his parents," in John 9:2.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you for that pick-up! You are right, and I should have got that detail correct. Many thanks for your positive and thoughtful review, and for your good wishes.

A clever idea tio take one of the lesser well documented miracles as the background for your fictional story. I like the idea of taking a traditional story and looking at it in a different light. In facr my mind is working on something similar, not a miracle more a legenbd really.

Thanks so much! I am glad you enjoyed this one. I wasn't sure how well it would be received. But to me the events were definitely super- natural. I'll look forward to seeing yours when it comes.

Your testimony burns bright is a fiction story as easily as if all-true. You are a wizardess, (sic) I guess. ....................................................................................

Comment from Brett Matthew West
Although "Elias" was born blind, his family tried to care for him as families should.
The paragraph beginning with "A teacher" obviously about some of the miracles Jesus performed.
A different twist on biblical events to include them in a supernatural story.
The reaction of the religious leaders exactly what occurred when Jesus healed the blind man.

Wendy, you have brought this familiar Bible story to life in a wonderful way. Often we forget that these Bible characters were just ordinary people like you and me. I am so glad that the power Jesus used to heal the blind man is still the same today, and we can experience miracles if we just believe.

I don't care how they are told, supernatural, fiction, non-fiction or whatever, when I hear of the grace and love of Jesus Christ it tugs at my heart.
Para 5, 3rd sentence: SUGGEST Removing (of) between (feeding) and (thousands)
Para 5, 4th sentence: SUGGEST Insert (he) between (and) and (could)
Para 5, 4th sentence: SUGGEST Insert (people) between (heal) and (from)
Wouldn't it be sad if the leaders of any country today would take the same stance against anyone who has truly seen the light and wisdom of our Lord? Wouldn't it be a tragedy!
I just like this story so much. It takes me right back into my Bible, my favorite book. It is so full of truth it should never have been classified super-natural or fiction. This is Christ at work. You have told the story so well from a modern-day standpoint that I am hitting the golden buzzer. I am giving you my last six-star for the week for a story well told and a story that must always be remembered.

Gary, you're wonderful. Your suggestions are spot-on, and all are incorporated, and I appreciate them. (I had to change another sentence slightly as I then went one word over the limit, and don't want to be disqualified!). Now it is exactly 500 again. I am very glad you enjoyed this one. To be honest, many "supernatural" stories focus on evil spirits, and we are warned against such things. I wanted our Lord Jesus to be recognised as the greatest and most wonderful super-natural being of all. Good supernatural is GOOD, and uplifting. Thank you for the precious gift of your last six star rating as well. It means a lot to me.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. I have often wondered about the people who knew of Jesus in the Bible yet did not believe. I fail to understand that. I enjoyed reading.

Thank you Barbara - I am glad you enjoyed this one. People don't want to change or be changed, OR think they know better.

Oh, our lovely Jesus. I loved your retelling of this wonderful story from the gospels. The narrator being a sister was a great idea. Again, your ease of storytelling just laid out another beautiful tale of a supernatural miracle of blessing and love.
