Yes, I often use that excuse myself, haha. I too could be a world class writer if only that darn bus didn't brake so hard and frighten me.

Now that would be sad, and possibly the only time that the finder of the misplaced manuscript had ever won a contest, but I remember when I lost many works off my hard drive some years ago. There's many more where that came from.beautifully written my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

but it wasn't to be for Mary.

I enjoyed reading your story. It was no surprise that she raced to the exit or that she forgot her story. It reminded me of the times that I've written some of my best stuff on scraps of paper on buses or in the car in traffic holdups. Good luck in the contest. Jen.

Good story, and writing prompt entry. It was interesting and kept me reading to the end. Too bad that she left it in the bus. I liked the humor at the end, not too for Mary, that she forgot her best story. But the last sentence there went her contest winner. A little humor for the situation. Nicely done with your writing. I'm sure she can remember the plot anyway. That's why I carry a pencil and notebook. What a wonderfully written story with a good twist.
