This is a beautiful tanka. I really liked "plush" forest floor, and "take a sip of stars" is a wonderful blending of the senses. The picture illustrates it all. I think this is one of my favorites of your tankas.

I love the alliterative and sensual "sip of stars." That really brings the experience of looking at the sea of stars reflected in the lake and making it seem like the narrator is experiencing the lake and the midnight sky all at once!

Yes, that's right. Starry skies in the country are particularly bright and beautiful... I imagined what it would be like by a lake and walking on soft ground, and the smell...now I want to take s trip. LoL
