I am also a Virgo, and I find it a struggle to keep plants alive as well. My great grandmother (who is still living) will put coffee (watered down) in the flowers about once a week. I wonder if that would help your orchid. This is a great story, and i relate to it a lot. I wish you luck in the competition. Keep trying to keep it alive! :) - Amber

Orchids are notoriously hard to grow. I hear some plants wait years before blooming. I heard of a night-blooming orchid that only blooms once every nine years, and then only for three hours, and then disappears. So, fear not. Have hope.

This is an excellent story for this contest. I didn't know where I would start so I didn't try this contest and with the information you were able to share. And it was funny how you wrote about your flowerless plant. I hope your Orchie will flower soon. I love the personification of Orchid. It provides drama and she's a character readers can follow.
