I guess that was an Italian moth. I have a butterfly friend. When I sit on my patio he comes ant lights on my hand. He is very persistant. when I shoo him off he comes right back. I'll avoid stepping on him.

Worst pun for September?
Your moth, George has just committed insecticide!
Well, there isn't much to say about such a short piece - it was well told and terribly tragic (though not as tragic as my joke.)
Even worse is this true story from the UK forty years ago, when the local fire brigade spent four hours getting a kitten out of a tree, only to run over and kill it as they left. The Newsreader found it impossible not to laugh when he read it on the evening news and was suspended for three months!
Terrible things just happen all the time!

This is a good very very short story (dribble). You didn't have many words to play with, but you used them well to get across an entire story. Best of luck in the dribble flash contest.

Hmmm. I've always been fascinated that moths "and other living things" are so attracted to the very light that will burn them to ashes. Someone, or something always gets crushed in the process...and yet next light? We're at it again!

This dribble, Arrivederci. has the proper word count and gives an example of how fleeting friendships can be. I wouldn't imagine that George knew he was losing as much as the moth lover did. RIP George: We Hardly Knew Ye.
