It's a beautiful poem, both thoughtful and thought-provoking, and it expresses many of our human insecurities and doubts. And yet we are very fortunate to be able to say we are saved by His grace alone. All our good deeds are the result of our salvation, not the reason for it. "By grace you are saved through faith; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast", so we can trust Jesus to have forgiven us and made us clean. So liberating. " Do I fully accept what He did on the cross?" you ask. Yes. Thank you, Jesus.

Me too, Wendy. Actually this is my checklist for myself to make sure I am fully following what God expects from me. And do I fail, oh yes, I come short. But I do keep trying. I know we can not make it to Heaven by anything we do, but when I ask myself if fully accept what He did on the cross, then I know the rest falls into place.

This is a very well-made poem. It is positive and engaging. It made me think as I was reading each stanza. I like the depth involved, and it reflects wanting to make a positive impact during one's life. Given FanStory's demographics this will be very appealing. I can see why you earned a victory. Thank you. I hope you know why this one is so special to me now. I just saw what you did. That is so kind of you. Thank you so much. Maybe I will promote it again then, as I have been told it is some of my best work. After all I did have the best inspiration in the world. A Christian friend who has been there for me spiritually and in many other ways so many times. There is no harm in doing it again, and most of the reviewers are saying that they have been so blessed by reading. That alone is good enough reason to me.
And that is what I meant it to do. Ok, I will and thank so much for what you did. Not to mention, did you notice that you were my 50th review. How cool is that? Only you are worth more to me than your weight in gold.

The challenge of this contest was a difficult task, you did a wonderful job in meeting the criteria. I like the way your poem makes the reader think. I don't like the fact that I fall short of some of the good thing's mentioned. Like being more forgiving.

Wow, Debi, this is so powerful, and really makes the reader think. I doubt any of us could live up to all the expectations you've set for yourself but, at the same time, there's not one of us who can't try. I always try to be a good person, but reading this actually makes me want to be a better one.

You're very welcome, Debi. By the way, sometimes you do have to use "I." When you're sharing your thoughts, feelings and beliefs, it's hard not to do it in the first person.

Oh yes, I agree. That kind of I, I am ok with. But when I start to say I think this way, so should you. I do this and I do that. Y'know what I mean? Then the I is wrong when we get caught up in ourselves. At least that is what I have seen. That is why I do have a hard time accepting praise, because I never want it to give me a false ego. I totally love giving instead. Doing the birthday poems is such a rewarding thing for me.

I fully understand your point. However, you are one of the least self-aggrandizing people I've ever seen. Yes, we all need to guard against being too full of ourselves but, in your case, I really don't think that's an issue. I do hope you'll accept this compliment, as I'm one of those people who'd rather say nothing at all than lie to boost someone's ego. If I compliment you, it's because I truly believe you deserve it.

I don't quite consider myself poised and elegant (I'm as casual as they come), but I do try to be kind and gracious, and to see the best in people wherever I can. The best thing about being that type of person is that it allows me to attract lovely people such as you. If we lived near one another, I have no doubt you and I would be close, genuine, in-person friends. You're definitely the type of person I like to be around.
