I love watching cats doing what cats do, more in line with what cat would do to survive, yet are fed well, rest well, and like any pet, don't really have to work, yet do these fun things naturally as if their lives depended on it, beautifully written, blessings Roy

This is a charming piece of flash fiction and conjures up an immediate image of the way cats leap on shadows. I notice you've used a few adjectives, for eg patiently and shrewdly. I think the piece would have more impact without those as you've already created the image and they're not needed (apart from helping you meet the word count of course). I'm trying to come up with my own piece for the competition and can see you've set a high standard.

This is a cute flash story. It reminds me of when I pull up an app on my iPad for my cat. It's a mouse forever darting across the screen that he will never catch...and yet he doesn't get discouraged! I like your use of the cat's name Shadow with the action that he is chasing shadows.
