Thank you for sharing your version with us. I enjoyed reading. This has been such a fun experience reading Gretchen and Rachelle's story and everybody's take on the food fight.

I'm so glad you made it to the convention, but do you think it was that rebellious Jane who tripped you or someone else? Either way, it wasn't very kind. I love the t-shirt "I laugh at my own Jokes." As we age, if we didn't laugh, probably no one would.
And the tux... big money I am sure! Thanks for sharing your experiences and I hope to meet you at the next convention.

Hi Carol.
I'm pretty sure Jane shoved me to the floor both times. I wasn't very nice to her in the original stories. I'm going to stay away from her in the future.
Comment from Pam Lonsdale
Robert, I love the t-shirt. I think anyone reading "I laugh at my own jokes" would have to laugh:-)
It doesn't sound like you had much fun at the convention, but I agree that the outfit could be auctioned to pay for part of the trip.
Interesting info on Dylan's real name. I knew he was born in Minnesota where my son lives, but did not recall the name. I will always think of him when I read your work now.
Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Hey Pam.
Thank you for the kind words and your observations. I have a real Tee shirt with that quote. I wear it every couple of weeks. I get lots of responses.

I'm glad you turned up at the Convention, but sorrow you ended up on the floor twice, I think it was Jane's fault, she was tripping everyone up all evening. I did spot you in your tax and thought how handsome you looked, but when I looked again you disappeared, that must have been when you fell Robert. I enjoyed your fun version of events here, love Dolly x

Thanks, Dolly. I appreciate your comments. Jane was the problem.

Interesting tidbit. I didn't know Bob Dylan's birth name was Robert Zimmerman. I'd say you went from one hurricane to another, the way some of the attendees described it. I did like your outfit. Some of the accounts were a little outrageous, I thought. I like that you kept yours limited. It was hard to bring all the members Rachelle had in her chapter. Great account. I don't drink much either. Maybe one glass of something or other on special occasions. judi

I was never asked about the name until I published my writing. 0ver the years I have probably been ashed about the name a half dozen times. I always wondered what happened to Mr. Flynn. 😁
-
I'm not Errol Flynn, heh hey

Hmm, Interesting short chapter in the multi-book. it is well crafted and edited. Are you sure you don't want more content, where your character. you, get into more serious things, than falling?

Thanks. I only wanted to talk about my experience based on the content from Gretchen and Rachelle.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This is the funniest most concentrated version I've read and I laughed all the way through, particularly when you were face-planted on the floor a second time. Your attire was wonderful, far too sophisticated for this occasion but you clearly made an effort which should have afforded you greater respect from your fellow Fanstorians. That was not the case so you did the next best thing and confused the hell out of them with your doppelganger disguise. Hilarious! Thank you Robert! You've made my evening! Debbie

Hey Debbie.
I am thrilled by your comments. It makes me happy when someone tells me they enjoyed reading something I've written. Just remember: I'm the real Robert Zimmerman... just not that one.
Just call me ZIM or Z (quicker to type)
-
Will do, Zim!

Comment from Rachelle Allen
HaHaHaHaHaHaHa!! This is hilarious! (Are you the REAL Robert Zimmerman. What a question!) I actually think I'M going to start laughing at my own jokes; that way, at least SOMEONE's laughing at them. (Is that how you got started doing that?)
Tell me, have you ever had loganberry seltzer? A Jewish deli my (92)-year-old former JCC boss and I visit for lunch every Friday serves that, and my friend raves about it. (I've tried it once, and it was good, but I'm a calorie-counter and don't like to waste mine on beverages.)
Robert, thank you SO very much for contributing to this book with your special brand of wry humor. I enjoyed this from beginning to end.
xoxoxo

I hope it was suitable. My normal short stories are Fables with morals and in my flash fiction I try to make sure there is a HOOK. I try to follow the Kurt Vonnegut "8 rules of writing."
Thank you for your great comments.
I don't drink calories but have not tried Loganberry. I will try to find some. All I drink is seltzer and black coffee.
I didn't want this to be corny, but I do have that tee shirt and on my profile page you can see another of my favorite tee shirts. I really have gotten those comments before. I'm very proud of my line , "He just thinks he's Robert Z." HAHAHA That cuts two ways.
Robert
-
Yeah, that's a really good line, indeed! Ditto for the t-shirts. I bet you get lots of comments. xo
-
Oh! And I just remembered something: it's not a loganberry seltzer; it's a loganberry phosphate.
-
I was at the grocery store last week with the tee on and the clerk started laughing right away. I looked at him and said, "See." Then I laughed.
-
There you go! And just like that you're no longer just another customer; you're "that fun guy with the t-shirts that make you laugh." Smart!
-
My other favorite is:
Sometimes I amaze myself.
I get a lot of laughs with that one.
I'm very happy you enjoyed the chapter.
-
It was just right...you know, like you!! xoxo
-
It's always a good day when I hear from you.
-
Ditto!!
