Well done! Your words left me longing for summer. The picturesque style with which you write created images and smells as I read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Your comment about the worker bees huddling around the queen bee fascinated me. Mother Nature teaches me something new every day.
Just read this again. It truly is magnificent. Your descriptions of the journey through the day are almost visible in your words. This is poetry as it should be written and so deserving of it's six stars.

Hi Pam,
What a truly lovely poem you have penned here. Seasons changing from summer to fall is now late in coming to Texas this year. Finally we got some much needed rain and cooler weather. It's been unseasonably warm and and dry this year but now a change has finally come. Your beautiful poem is timely as it is beautiful. Lovely oleander blooms to enhance your work added so much.
Your gentle rhymes are not contrived and flow impeccably down the page. I thoroughly enjoyed this timeless poem.

This is a gorgeous 'memory' of summer! Oh take me back, although in Ireland we had a pretty terrible summer weather wise this year! So take my to next summer and I'll hope for the best lol!
I love the scenes that you have captured, beautiful. And the little fun fact about the bee's! Well done
Best Wishes

Hi Nicki. yeah may be summer is relative because maybe Ireland doesn't have a summer. I think it does, but I think it's shorter than most everywhere else. Thank you for your lovely review.

I have three different colors of Oleanders in my yard. We've had some summers of drought and a couple of cold winters, well, cold for Texas, and they're struggling right now, but still alive. I wish our weather would get back to normal. I enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

Your poem has a vivid use of words that captures many elements of summer. I like how you mention the lonely drake, moon beams, deer and crickets. Your poetic form and use of words take the reader out into nature creating a beautiful place and a good feeling.

My favorite line "there's blush in the skies". It gives such a vivid picture of a sunset or sunrise. Keeping a rhyming theme and not making it seem so repetitive is a great accomplishment in my opinion! Great writing!
