Lol. Teenage smart-aleck, "innocently" taking the hose through the house! What a memory! You wrote the story well, and it made me smile. Things that were exasperating when we were parents I now find humorous.

Hope he is able to work in areas other than military ..I Think the eldest child normally is the least difficult .And in my case my younger one was the mischievous of the two. your post brought back a few memories of my own...

Greg wasn't the easiest but wasn't difficult. My easiest was number 3. My hardest number 2. I'll write about him next. Thank you for the understanding.

It's amazing how different siblings can be. I have two sons, and they are as different as night and day. Being an old basketball player, I can sympathize with Greg.

Hello Barbara,
I love to hear stories about your family gal. In a different environment, Greg would have been applauded for thinking outside of the box. I'm sorry to hear that he was hurt so bad in the military. I sure appreciate his service. Have a blessed evening.

As the parent of two girls vastly different in so many ways, and a son who was even more different than the girls. I was mystified many times by the misapplied logic they employed in getting around my wife's and my instructions. LOL. That I guess is just the nature of children.

This poem is full of humor from a true-life story of how a teenaged son created a short-cut that wasn't really more efficient in the long run. The language is down to earth and easy to read. Thanks for the post-script! Hope will always outlast the garden hoses.

Oh, the ones that are bigger challenges are the ones that we watch make something of themselves... after they've made us completely crazy (and make us cry in private after we discipline them as necessary)... :) A wonderful addition to the saga of raising boys... Maybe I should try this at some point... :-) :-) Thanx for sharing, my lady!! ;) Yvette

We never know what boys growing up might do next, but it's always wonderful when they turn out like we hoped they would. Good for Greg and your whole family. Thanks for sharing.

I have often said to get the full enjoyment of boys one needs to have more than two close to the same age. Next week, a story about my wild child. LOL Thank you for understanding.

I guess all families have to have the one wild child. My mother can attest to me. :-)

Oh my goodness! What have I been missing? Is this an autobiographical book? Barbara -- I have to check!!!!
You must have wanted to strangle him -- hahaha! I can just SEE the smug look on his face (your writing is that evocative).

Thank you for the kind review and understanding. More than once with my boys I thought of strangling them, but I don't look good in orange. LOL

This is a charming tale of family life and I am sure that most of us have done equally idiotic things when we think we were being smart.
Such is the nature of life.
Thank you for sharing
