I had a little trouble with the rhythm of your poem. It is well written and conveys clear images to the reader. I like how you have brought the reader through the shift of the season to the coming spring.

Fantabulous

The sky she cries her steamy wail
gripping cold knowing it will fail
life bursts free from frozen coil
Pushing forth from the cracked soil

The evidence of earth deities life
The coldest sin does its strife
You will loose your frosted grip
The warmth of sun you did sip

This is a beautiful poem! I love nature poems and especially those about flowers, this depicts the circus to be powerful, pretty and plenty! I loved the incorporated rhyme, it reads wonderfully. Great job, good luck with the contest!
Best Wishes

You brought the magical scene here of the crocus breaking through the snow in order to bloom with colour and display delicate petals, I enjoyed your inventive and warm poem about the joys of spring when the crocus presents its frilly skirt of colour, love Dolly x x x

a great personification poem about the life and times of the humble Corcus flower. You captured the life of the humble flower and its death in the end. i like the image chosen

well, I gave you a five, but I have to say, I didn't understand all of this poem, though you did express the harsh conditions of the "birth" of the crocus. I just didn't get the first "not once, but twice, and then, at the end, "Spring will come, not one but two." also the "mighty fall" bit. Maybe I just don't know enough about the crocus.

    Hi
That line that you mentioned in the poem. There not once but twice, it describes the struggle of it trying to crack through the ice, so it takes more than one hit to get through. It wasn't instant for the crocus to come out of the snow, so we had they crack it twice if that makes any sense, just my perception every poem like this is open to interpretation. I certainly appreciate yours. I certainly appreciate you. Reading and offer me is fine rating and offering some interesting things to think about. I thank you for that.I also hope you have an amazing evening!

Thank you! I guess not living where there's snow and ice and crocuses, the information in your poem was new to me :)

I love the way, with your poetry, very often you personify your plant-based subjects. This one was particularly graphic and exciting as we are taken to envisioning a robust crocus defying the odds set against it and rising, like a phoenix, from the ashes of a spent season to blossom again, doubled in number.

I especially liked the description "grape face." You have a knack for clever imagery like that. Good luck to you in the contest!!!xoxoxxo

I think that the deeper we get into winter, the more we look forward to the warmth of spring. The crocus bulbs hibernate and divide to promote there species. Well done.

Thank you, Dolly, I'm glad you like it! Crocuses are good sign of spring, they're always the first up. For us anyway, it could be different in other areas. I appreciate you.Stopping it for a rating, talking your thoughts.Thank you very much, have a great night!

So beautifully presented, I will have to look up this plant, though your words describe it and its actions wonderfully, I am presuming they are in full bloom until the sun comes "Giving sun the petals fly" your rhyme is excellent, very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

This is a wonderful Spring poem. Crocus' are a beautiful flower and a sure sign that spring is right atound the corner. The picture compliments the poem quite nicely. I can almost hear the river bubbling.

Well done and good luck in the contest.
