Begin Again:
You pour your heart, longing and love for Michael in this poem.
"Michael" takes us right to the sweetness and how special your little boy was during his short life and how beloved he remains.
Thanks for sharing with us both this very poignant chapter and various dear memories of your wonderful child.

The loss of a child before a parent is probably one of the hardest elements of life to bear. When I did counseling, I would much rather deal with the murder of a sibling than that situation; it is so painful. The key to the poem is in the poignant last line. It's a beautiful poem with great descriptive powers.

I was scrolling down the list of stories and saw your contest entry about Michael. I had to read it because I knew it would be another fitting tribute to your beautiful boy. It is. You will see him again as this is God's promise to us.

This made my heart sigh. How sad and beautiful at the same time. You know what? I could just see little Michael sending those cheerio's down the steps. It made me smile.

This is beautiful beyond the words that any review could deliver. You've captured so many important moments of a little boy who lived so much in just his four short years. I am sorry for your loss, but glad that you're able to share these moving memories with us!
