We all come through that stage of eternal search for the meaning of life and our purpose in living. We look in different places and in most cases in unlikely places. But our search can only be completed in Jesus, our Savior where we can find eternal rest. We can never be happy only with ourselves, with our own choice for God Jesus is the only perfect choice.

Yes not at all so easy to do 'lived a life that was of my own choice' - yet it is our Karma but we get drawn down so many side paths - interesting

A dramatic difference between loneliness and alone. I enjoy alone time being able to remember, live and envision the future. I believe those of us that are at peace with our space on the planet are among the most blessed.

Lovely poem, a bit sad in some respects but filled with acceptance and happiness.

In giving one's life to seek his/her quest, one may indeed experience life at its best and worst. At the end of his/her days, one can still sigh with the knowledge that he/she did as they pleased.

What a wonderful poem, finding what makes you happy and being happy is very important. Loving others is not as important as loving yourself, for you can only give love if you love yourself. I enjoy my me time. Thanks for sharing.

I love these lines the most:

To experience lust, love, anger, tears and pain

Only to survive to see another moonlit night alone,

Then will you be at peace with yourself

It truly describes a person with lots of experiences that now needs to relax and enjoy

I don't understand people who are afraid to be alone. Maybe they are afraid of finding out something about themselves. I love alone time. I don't need people to define me. I have four kids and a husband, but I was alone for years. I like you take on this. Great imagery and the line about the farthest hill of life was very vivid. Great job.

I am caught up in your words. The following, "Only to survive to see another moonlit night alone,

Then will you be at peace with yourself

And to be able to say, I am my best friend," really touched me because I have reached that point in my life and can truly appreciate what you are talking about.

The last lines speak to me just as well. You have reached into my life and exposed me in black and white. Thank you for the look at myself

Interesting, in some ancient cultures a quest by the young males was needed before they could be considered men. Young men in other times also bravely boarded sailing ships to seek their fortune and experience life. This was their college, their way of maturing. You have said all these things with only a few words. Well done.

Great work here, deepwater. I think it helps connect the reader with a love for themselves. I think my favorite part was your verse about another moonlit night alone. The was like a bell toll in my mind, and I said "Yes" out loud. Very well done, in fact upgrading to six stars. Cheers.
