A very beautiful, effective poem. I am sorry I missed it first time around. Just too much to read here!
Congratulations on your well deserved nomination for POM.
Your rhyme and meter are superb, which make this moving poem all the more effective. I was convinced the speaker was talking about the end of a relationship, which I guess is what you intended. You handled that very cleverly - all the clues there on second reading.
A terrific piece of writing, which I enjoyed very much.

Another great poem...I really admire your writing style...and I sense this poem is about someone..who you loved very much passed on...I almost lost my husband...to a heart attack and six blockages...so he had bypass surgery...thankfully he is now well..I hope that your grief has become easier by time..I would like to be your fan...but I do not know how to do it...I am new to Fanstory...with affection steffy I wish I could write like you

Well deserving of maximum stars, this is powerful and something we can all identify with. Having parkinsons affects my concentration but it also means I read slowly, and your poem touched me deeply. Excellent.

What a beautiful poem! The words flowed well, and the emotion drawn out by the verse is intense. The memorandum, though in tribute to a spouse, I imagine, may also apply (and reminded me of) the loss of a parent. You've inspired me to revisit my mother's grave yet again.

Thank you for sharing this moving poem!

What a beautiful poem. You had me believe you would reunite. And I believe you will, someday, in another time and space. I love the repeated appeal to God, changed up a bit each time. The ending was a sad surprise. Loved it!

Can grief be ever gotten over? why is it that after a person dies we want more time "to make between us these things right." Jsavell, you have written a very poignant treatise on Grief. "I need to see his loving face--God grant me a moment of Grace" All your cries are now coming to the surface. You have brought out your sense of futility and regret very well in your poem. And lastly the rose you take to put on his grave ,your waiting to be held in his robust arms all are beautifully written in poetic form. And lastly "I needed to come to this place and let him know I am all right" shows that to some extent you have come to terms with your grief. Well written poignant piece. Gooloom

Wow I actually do not have the right or sufficient words to desribe this beautiful tribute to your late loved one.
Your words are poignant and sad.
Your grief and longing come through so very strongly.
How sad it is to be the one left behind.
This is one of the most powerful poems I have read on grief. I could not pick out a particular verse, they are all beautiful.
Blessings
