A fine display and way to share the thrill
of giving Duke a trounce at Chapel Hill.
I check Michigan and Ohio State
Then turn off the tube (it ain't so great)

Yep, I understand about rivalries, and what a high it is when your guys make a touch like this. Live it up while you can. I imagine there will be a rematch on their turf. Good, neat, composition, fine rhyme and meter. I enjoyed it.
Bill
PS - The government will plow up Tobacco Road, if they can.
Is that a hot topic in your 'hood?

Bill, thanks so much, my friend. Yes, sir, the rematch is in but a couple of weeks, in Durham, so they'll have their chance soon enough.
Actually, it hasn't been that hot a topic of late, but I do expect it to gather heat again if and when the economy turns and the government starts the engines again.

OK, so maybe it isn't the poem with the most depth of all of yours I've read. Still, the rhyming was spot-on, and if flowed so lyrically, fast-paced and interesting to the end, even to this non-sports fan. Well done.

No, it was just a celebratory jaunt, my friend, which is fun to do, too. Thanks!

Thank you very much, Pad. I'm not a baseball fan, except to go to Durham Bulls and UNC games, but basketball at UNC is king.

You gave me a nice view of a North Carolina morning this time of year. Before long, for you, the red bud, then dogwood, and crepe myrtle. Kenny

Ah, yes, all is right in the world today. I think your poem did the rivalry justice, especially when it ends as this one did. Even though it was raining here, the skies are still Carolina blue.
