Oh, my dear, my prayer for you is to not live in fear any more. You are in your twenties, plenty of time ahead to spread your wings. Fearing loss of dear ones cripples the spirit. Give it time.

I always find it amazing and fascinating how childhood experiences (especially the negative ones) carry on into our adult lives. You are right, we have no control over so many of these events and I am pleased you are now starting to allow your inner voice to lead you.
