You did a nice job with this short narrative. The little twist was nice too. There is a lot of content in these 100 words.

Having just watched a family of grandchildren go through this trauma, your story touched my heart. Well done = no spelling or grammar issues. Good luck in contest.

To all pet lovers, this scenario is no doubt heart-wrenching. Just thinking that a beloved pet showering you with affection does not have much time. The moments become more precious as this knowledge settles into one's mind.
Amazing how the bonding relationship of a pet and master become valued as the hours or days pass by. Somehow while waiting for the inevitable the passing moments are also treasured more but also adds more to the pain.

I, indeed, have had to endure this experience, more than once. The worst time is when my adolescent daughter was there with me and we grieved together.
You capture so well the atmosphere, the dialogue - I am reliving my own experiences through this one. A powerful flash fiction. Brooke

Hi,
This is such a moving story. I've had to put a pet down before. It's devastating to do, even when you know it's the right thing to do.
Beautiful dedication and entry.
Best of luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

Aw, this is such a sad story. It would be so hard to do this to our pet, especially since they are just like one of the family. I can't even imagine. I don't want to, either...
Very well done, and best of luck to you in the contest.

This is well written short piece as it has a twist that works really well. I had to put one of my cats out of his misery myself as he was really suffering and it was at midnight and I couldn't wait for the ver.
