Just being in such a place so far away could be inspiring, I should imagine, Tony. Sometimes we find the unusual exciting because it is different and exotic

You are right, Giddy. Travel broadens the perspective. Tony.

Tony: " . . . and fog swirled, licking at the edges of our relationship." Never heard a failing relationship described quite this way; very nicely written. Your words describing the surrounding scenery brings it to my front yard and I stay a good distance from the snorting bull . . .your writings are so dreamy . . . did I just say "dreamy"???? Well done. Linda

Such an eloquent poem, with the thoughts as sad and gray as the words. I was glad to see it was not an autobiography. You did a wonderful job sucking the color even from the usually colorful and exciting food.

Thanks, kittykatnoel. It was a melancholy winter's evening landscape. Glad I captured something of the mood for you. Tony

Many good lines here, such as: "A solitary bull breathed thin vapour across our final olive grove," and "as daylight drained from the cobbled streets." Poem sets a wonderful scene and mood. VanGogh's artwork is perfect accompaniment.

Poets are just like that, they can be inspired just by anything and they make it reality in written lines. It becomes truth in the hands of the poet, although it is not. Very effective and truly an excellent write. God bless.

Many thanks, Nassus. What you say is interesting. We bring our own truth to what we see. Tony.

Thank God, it's not autobiographical, hahaha!
It is a sad story of a dying relationship, I guess? I think, I felt this every time I feel bad and my marriage is rocked the hardest.
How's the holidays, Sir Tony? I hope you had a restful and amazing one. God bless us! c", mae

I was a bit disappointed that it was not biographical, because I was going to stop pummeling you with questions! LOL. Still it was a great poem, conveying the fullness you normally only find in life's experiences.
Thanks for sharing,
Blessings,
Marsha

You have wonderful sensory imagery here in "a soup of salt cod, spinach and chick peas" - wow - very impressive writing.

A very good free style poem. It was so descriptive, I thought it was autobiographical. It does seem like a harsh place and cold.
