I really enjoyed the rhyming structure, I read it aloud and found it very soothing, which is interesting when you take into account the sad/melancholic aspect of the lyrics. Great job!

I think you wrote a great country and western song here. Do you do the melody as well? I noticed you thanked someone for a picture, but I didn't see one. Very nice job. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Pretty cool thoughts. Nicely written. Good line: Jack Daniels helped me see the light. Would be good if he could dump the drink without having to beg her to stay. But then the song would be very different.

These lyrics, No Such Thing As Angels, speak country loud and clear. The over-served rowdy crooner and the long-suffering one-man woman who brews the coffee, applies the ice pack, makes excuses to the neighbors, and pretty much enables the activity.
I like the framing of the woman as the angel that must be present for a character like this. The realization that someone is going above and beyond always seems so clear yet never reciprocated by the drunk.
I sang it out to see how it might be delivered. Sounds like it's time to put a pick to a guitar and record it.

I'm not a fan of country music but think this would be a hit
It about real life so many people can relate and many want to forget
you captured my attention from the first line to the last.
Thank you for sharing.

A very well-written heartfelt poem/song for the woman of an alcoholic who waits for her man to come home drunk as a skunk she just keeps loving him no matter what.

Hey look! Another SIX! Thanks for digging this out again, I don't think I saw it last time. Did you do music to this? I could have a go at it if you want. Just one question....but, how long ...they reckon a comma is not allowed after but...but I guess lyric license might allow hehe.

Brett I know we have had a rocky relationship on this site anbd we have such diverse personalities and egos but I have to admit, this is a wonderful write and could easily be song lyrics to a country and western tune send it to Garth Brooks or something.

Sad but beautiful, if he cared he would climb out of the bottle and stay sober. She is trying to tell him he has a life to live and needs to move on.she will always be in his heart, she wouldn't want him drinking so much.
