Wow, Brett. I think this is lovely. Did you write music for this? Or is it just a poem. Good job. Love the picture. I love roses anyway, my favorite flower. The rhythm is rather strange, though I know sometimes music is different. I hope I am making sense. Blessings, Miss Sally

I'm sure there are lost loves and roses crying all over the world tonight.
An interesting expression of lost love and the emotional toll it takes.
Sadly lovers so often don't see what they had until it is gone.
Well expressed and presented.

Great line about even the roses are crying. The narrator feels he's lost his loved one because he took her love for granted. The melancholy overtakes him. He has the phone, but she's said not to call. Maybe he should just call anyway. He should keep on trying. Excellent rhyme, and the wording works well. Happy trails. judi

is all that's left of you and me (Isn't this a little long. How about "all that's left of 'we'?)Than watching good love turn cold (once again 'good' seems to add an extra syllable, but maybe it's just me.)
Focus on the positive, buddy, focus on the positive in your relationships. ; )

Sad, pitiful, and morbid warms the hear every time, especially when writing Country lyrics, so no need to change that now. Glad you enjoyed this.

You really have this genre down, Brett. I don't actually have a tune in my head when I read your poetry - it's hard to explain. I think it's that I have a country western rhythm.
Then, of course, there's the content. The third stanza is so vivid - by writing 8X10 instead of picture, the image just pops off the screen.
I'm going to fan you because finding your work is hit or miss since I don't spend a lot of time here. Hugs, Lou

A very well written poetry and nicely expressed and put into words. A decent vocabulary is used and a different topic is chosen, and it is really romantic.
I would appreciate if you would read my work and give your precious review.

Hi, Brett...
_ Great lyrics.
_ Your're right in your notes---the artwork complements your poem very much.
_ It's true sometimes, no matter what, love dies hard.
_ Enjoyable read.
Cheers & Blessings

Some relationships were not meant to be and however much one cries it will never work out. Well expressed words of feelings and love and good use of rhyming. Most enjoyable read Faye
