This is beautiful lament to a lost love. I really liked it and it so well written. I can almost imagine music to be added. Well done. All the best, Ulla

My friend I wish I had six stars for this great piece. I am assuming it is a song. It would make a wonderful country song. I could easily relate tot he wording on this. Great descriptive wording and imagery. I love the rainbow picture you used with this. hugs, Teri

Tonight I'm riding rainbows that always go away
Looking for tomorrow in every yesterday
This kind of looks like the first line of a song. And it rhymes. Maybe at the end of the rainbow is a bucket of gold. You reap your harvest from seeds sown in the sickle & rye. Seeds not planted deep into the soil do not germinate. Basically, you can conclude many scenarios based on that sentence at the top. Cute tale, here. Nice imagination and spirit. BOO

This is beautiful written. Is there a tune with it? Believe it or not, I'm totally not into music except the Christian kind, but I'd assume this is what they call the country and western style?? Man if you've been happily married for fifteen solid years why don't you sing her praises? : )

Country music is three chords and the truth. And, in Country music sad, pitiful, and morbid are what sells. Glad you enjoyed these lyrics. Your comments and support appreciated.

Brett,
Yes, this does read like a song. I like the entry line and how you repeated it at the
end...also the riding rainbow line with 'tonight' then again with 'now'
I believe the words-lyrics are appealing to many. I did enjoy the rhymes within it,
as you placed them.
A pleasure to read and review,
Linda

Hi Brett,
This is another well written poem that held me mesmerized through the whole poem. Only one line I had to read several times, which was: Nothing that I know of keeps my feet here on the ground. I couldn't get what you meant by "know of keeps" at first and thought, "Nothing that I know will keep my feet upon the ground" sounded better, but that's just me. ( ;

Such a glorious piece of photo art to accompany your poignant poetic proclamations portraying pain, loneliness and sorrow, Brett. It's quite easy to see why these lyrics have received the accolades here they have thus far.
This also hit pretty close to home for me personally, buddy. I nearly had to stop reading it...
Great work with this one.

Apologize for touching on a sore nerve, my friend. Glad you enjoyed this. Your comments and support are always welcome here. Lost love, for whatever reason, is something that for many people, simply never really goes away.
-
No, it certainly doesn't, Brett.
hey, it only touched a nerve because it was so well written. I can't fault you one bit for that.
Keep keepin' it real, Brett...
