Oh I love this feel good story about Christmas and how the bond of family love is presented in this beautiful story. Sam is truly a representation of what is good and his parents happen to be the prefect model of responsible parenting. Thanks for sharing this excellent story. God bless.

A lovely and heartwarming Christmas story. I love the happy ending. For a while I really worried with Sam, thinking his mother was going to die. What a relief to find out his mom was not sick anymore and that it turned out to be Sam's best Christmas ever.
Best wishes in the contest.
Blessings,
Anabella

This is a tender, warm Christmas story, with a kind of coming-of-age theme that's just perfect for the contest. I only found one minor spag below, not even a spag, but a spacing thing. I really liked this story, Dawn.
But I'm not going to tell her I [Paragraph spacing error.]
Good luck with the contest.

Thank you, Jay - I'm glad you liked it. I don't see any spacing problem between paragraphs though...? Am I missing something? It looks like Evil Eddie did the job correctly this time, at least on my screen...just one return between each paragraph.

Yeah, I'm in this contest too. Although I don't know why. This story is so touching and well written. Yours has a happy ending with a puppy! I just read another about a man and his dog dying! I mean, c'mon! How can you compete with all that?
Seriously, this is a wonderful poem and I am grateful for the way you emphasize our need to keep cancer awareness on the forefront. I am a survivor of Leukemia. Thanks, Dawn. -Bill

Aren't you a cute Christmas kitty? Great picture.
I love your story with it's happy ending. After all his worry about his mother possibly dying, Scout is rewarded in his father's office with trust, a well mom and a puppy.
What a great Christmas.
You really tugged at my heart with his concern.
All reads clearly and his thoughts are realistic for his age.
Good luck in the contest, Dawn.

This dreaded disease leaves no family untouched and doesn't limit it's pain and misery to only the old. It strikes everywhere, and anyone is susceptible to a cell going wild. It's there, just waiting for any chance to get us. Thanks for another fine story. Great job. :-)

What a beautiful story. It was so sad, yet full of love. Your character is such a brave little lad.
You kept the suspense going right to the end. Best of luck in the contest

A lovely Christmas story, all i want for Christmas is a healthy mum, poor little boy selflessly worrying about his sick mum and little brother and how he was going to handle it. And what he finishes up with is, a beautiful little puppy dog, il think my elder girl was an "old soul" she shepherded her little sister when she was very young, and their relationship today is a very close friendship. This is beautifully written Dawn, outstanding entry in this comp, let me know when the voting is, I usually get their too late, wonderfully scribed, blessings, Roy
