Love the title you picked. At least it was the keys you lost and NOT the grandson! I enjoy reading your writing because you take the everyday frustrations and turn them into something that can be laughed at. You are a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing your talent!

Heidi, you always come through for me with the spags. Thank you so very much. I'm terrible with its/it's and need to crack down and pay attention. I appreciate your kind words. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hehe I love your stories you say them with a beautiful satirical tone. I can so relate to your car key saga. You know Mary, I can remember song lyrics from the seventies guitar riffs etc but fkd if I know where I left my carkeys!! Grand parenthood is all ahead of me at this stage though mt eldest Son's wife is getting broody.
I used to have a set of carkeys where if you whistle they would whistle back but chicks walking pass would give me evil looks I suppose a wolf whistle was the wrong option hey lol
Bruni would be spewing!
anyways a great read as usual

A six-ter from the dip-ster, see I can write poetry too!! LOL. Thank you so much for this wonderful review, and the assignment of a six no less! There is nothing to compare 'granding' to and I can imagine the unleashing of words to poems you will come up with when the happens. All the pressure is off, and you just enjoy. The worry is still there though, I think we have that until our last breath with our kids and theirs...Thanks again so much for this lovely write. Your whistle story is a hoot...you can rhyme that one up into a great read, I'm sure!

I so dearly love you.
Had bad news this morning and I really needed a pick me up and you came through for me. I laughed till I cried and I truly needed the cry.
You are the best.

Haha, thank you Barb, but I'm so sorry you needed a laugh. Hope things work out in that regard.
I went back in and added a Bruni interjection at the point of choo-choo, in case you need anither laugh later. I love your reviews XO

Bruni is a part of you and when you don't include her in these, it is not complete. ;you are so right. I love it

It would be funny if it wasn't true. I noticed it was posted as non-fiction. I heard that you locked the keys in the car and it took you three hours to get out.

I've had days like that. I locked my keys in the enough so for years, I've pinned an extra set somewhere in my clothes.
Just think what fun it will be with two little ones. 8-)

I would have been in a real pinch...my second set was eaten by my son's dog a few weeks earlier and we hadn't yet ordered a duplicate ... yikes! Thank you, Yvonne, for your RR&R and understanding. You should see me with passwords!! It's a comedy unto itself :) Have a great week!

This is an all true story for many of us. I, one time locked my keys in the trunk of my car. Called my father-in-law and he came, took out the backseat of the car to gain access to the trunk and recovered my keys. Thank God for a very patient and loving father-in-law.

Thank you, Pat, for your RR&R and kind review. I wasn't even sure I had locked them in the car, because I have tinted windows and the car seat blocked the view from the other side. I was wondering what I would do if AAA arrived and there were no keys to be found!! Thank you for your time in reading, AND reviewing, Pat. Much appreciated. Have a wonderful week!

LOL, Mary, you will have to get some of those keys that jangle when you clap your hands! I've heard they are excellent. At least you will never lose your hands!! LOL. Also, perhaps get another set of car keys? I hope your new grandchild brings you lots of fun. I think you did really well getting through that day without needing to be locked away! LOL :) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra, thank you for your RR&R. Even with the key alarm, I would have been up a creek as soon as I closed the locked door. You reminded me of why I only had one set of keys...my son's dogs ate the other set and FOB when he borrowed my car a few months prior. I've added that tidbit to the story, so thanks for that :) I appreciate you, Sandra, have a great week!
-
Now I've heard it all! LOL, the dog ate your keys! So funny! xxx
-
My son's dogs...they double teamed it when he borrowed the car. One is a rottweiler and the other a dalmation mix. They've eaten a couch, baseboards and countless other things...
-
Now, there's a good story! LOL, don't they get fed? A couch! Goodness me! You have a huge source of material there to write about, some fun ones at that. You must write them. :)

Haha ... this is a write that many of us can relate to Mary! I'm always looking for my eye glasses and my cell phone. I keep a land line phone just so that I can track where my cell phone is hiding. Ha, you call it "Attention Deficit Disorder". I call it "Senior moments".
You did a great job with retracing all of your steps, and in explaining what resulted, such as the doggies being ever so happy to see you again. "Nanny diaries" ... love that!
Isn't that the way it goes? When we are already late or frazzled, the rest of the day seems to follow suit.
This was a fun and entertaining write, Mary! Just one small typo I noticed:
"parked behind right me" ... parked right behind me
Once again you have taken an everyday type of a thing and turned it into something funny for your reader. Well done, Mary!

Hi Connie, thank you for the catch! My goodness, I should fire Bruni for her crappy editing :) I appreciate your review and catch, it has been corrected :) Thank you for being a constant in my work, you help me more than you realize, and I appreciate you greatly, Connie. You are a blessing to me. XO

You are too kind, Mary! Thank you!

Mary, this reminds me of my mornings and why I am often late to work--writing on FanStory. Your story is brilliant. I love how you take mundane things and write about it in a way that is humorous and that can relate to people. Who hasn't lost keys?
I love the casual breeziness of your prose although you did hit a few spags:
Did you mean "once" here: "One reharnessed in my on-pointer"?
at?: "AT the golf course"
Use "a train whose conductor messes . . ." and not "a train whose conductor who is messing"
Use "Ever. Again." and not "Ever.again." You capitalization and a space.
Your writing shows great energy. You have a personal quality that is endearing and infectious.
Thank you for sharing your tale of keys trauma.

Oh my gosh, thank you Andre. I have corrected all the spags Yikes! That is what writing before caffeine does for me :) Once again, you have gifted me with a wonderful review. Thank you so much. You are a blessing. Have a wonderful day out there and keep an eye on those keys!
