Beautiful writing, Susan. I liked this stanza in particular...it's almost musical and flows so well:
"Peacefully rest upon my breast;
Steady heartbeats thrum, till we sleep.
Be always blessed along life's quest
and never far from Angels keep."
Great poetry, seriously. Bob

This is a beautifully written poetic proclamation portraying a pure and perfect love, Susan.
It felt genuine and heartfelt, not the least bit pretentious or overly-dramatized.
Thanks for sharing...

I loved your poem. It expressed protection and love. It was from the heart, and it show in your words.
The last stanza was my favorite, don't get mean wrong, I loved them all. Your words had flowed so beautifully.

This sweet poem just overflows with unconditional love. While the man is generally expected to be the strong one (provider, protector, etc.) in a relationship, in reality he has as much need for solace and comfort as his partner (though most men are reluctant to show it, despite the fact that such restraint actually weakens their health and ability to stay strong). Accordingly, there are moments when a woman should gently take the lead as here described, giving her mate the relief he needs to recharge. It is not weak of him to accept such solace, as it truly supports his strength and resolve when needed. This rarely mentioned aspect of real love is important to recognize, and this splendid expression of it is the best I have seen. Superb, and the lovely illustration fits the theme well.
On the technical side, I like the internal rhymes that match the external rhymes in the odd-numbered lines.

You are most welcome, Susan. Once again you earned a Six for wondrous words that evoke exactly the strong emotion you intend. Also, the changes you have been making since this review are improving the poem even more. FanStory is achieving its stated purpose here, as fellow writers are helping you make this work the best it can be. I love it. -- Mike
