This is a remarkable poem that speaks to me of love, love past but now an inspiration for life to go on, in an eternal revelation of inner beauty connecting us, through Adonna, to the acceptance of wonder at God's creation. Your poem, a panegyric to Adonna, is also a song of thanksgiving for calm, healing qualities of this Paradise that surrounds us, here on earth. A poem that speaks of you love for and communion with life itself, beyond being such a sensitive tribute to the lady we all know and love as MissMerri. I have no hesitation in giving it my vote for Poem of the Month.

Hello Michael,
You've penned this eloquent and exquisitely triumphant tribute to a favorite
poet known and admired by many, Addona: myself included for several years
; as if hugging some momentous secret, impetus for which became too exciting
thus, had to find lingering pleasure and irresistibly buoyed spirits to share and
proudly beaming tribute. Your own very intricate and incomparable style
creating such vivid and entrancing mirrors and mystiques, makes this tribute
all the more profound and beguiling! Your eager warmth flows through every
line, capturing so graciously and glowingly, her subtle kind of radiance, that
inner glow that abides in her and captivates the senses so instantly.
Thank you for sharing and penning this exceptional tribute and gift to us all.
With fondest wishes always, Ronni

Oh, wow. Isn't this beautiful, a delightful tribute to MissMerri, and so descriptive of her. Yes, she does speak in the language David owned, and pens the love that surely makes the roses jealous. Just lovely. Blessings...

I've read this several times, I admit, and for several different reasons. The first time through, though I recognized the name at the top, I could scarcely recognize the person described in your lines, but I am deeply touched by the kind portrayal, nonetheless. The next time through, I read it as if I were someone who didn't know you or your subject, and found so many reasons to love the poem... the elegant language and descriptive words, the internal rhyme and the subtle arrangement of words like a watercolor painting, with contrast and light, color and shadow all blending together to make something so appealing to the senses. You are truly an artist, with paint or with words, and this poem is especially creative and appealing. The third time through, I found so many clever little turns and twists of language and ideas, like a picture puzzle fitting neatly together to reveal what was not seen before. But this, I've learned, is fairly typical of your writing style. You do amazing things with language. A few examples that I might mention: in the second stanza you say... speaking in love poems, a language David owned, and implying that those who hear, feel comfortable and welcome. The phonetically pleasing "owned" and "home" adds to the flavor. The next stanza is equally delightful, with dance, romance and chance all working together to create more inference about the poetry, and the "tongue" referring again to poetic language, and "pleasing to taste" all holding so much meaning. Then, of course, you employ so many poetic techniques, such as consonance and assonance, that add poetic beauty. I could go on... but surely you know by now, I love what you wrote.
It helped me enjoy the poem in a different way as I tried to remove the name from the equation, but I have to admit, there is something very touching about reading a poem written for you, or about your work. I think this is a first for me. Thank you for your generosity and for making "Adonna" seem more like a poet than she ever deserved. I'm truly moved by this.
I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the artistic presentation of this poem. The swaying tree branch over the water is beautiful and watching all those flowers bloom to gorgeous music was truly amazing. Thank you for the beauty you share.

Just love the twists and turns of your write for when they hit home, one finds the beauty.
So glad I am in tune with your meanings, for it is giving indeed.

By the way...on the title it says Madonna' but on the top, it states Adonna....change to the one or will have difficulty connecting.
Best wishes, my friend.

A beautiful poem, quite Merri in fact,
"whispering secret things made satisfied"
It is difficult to put a person into words
but "she speaks in love poems" says it nicely
and "side by side with Divine"
Perfect art work to match splendid words
Wish I had six stars for you and her
Perhaps six roses will do
