Today's word:
mulctabe (adj.) <-- You misspelled your word! Needs an L: mulctable
I loved learning all those old words. I knew rapscallion, of course, and I love fandangle... very useful in reviews of certain writers.
Good job on the limerick with such great choices as dumb-ass. THe last line sums it up perfectly.
blowhards pretending they're high-class!
This took some work. Worthy of a six... despitre misspelling your own word! :)

Thanks so much, Phyllis! I guess I need to stop working on these on my tiny laptop screen - or get better glasses. The lovely six stars are very much appreciated, as are the very kind comments. Cheers, Craig

I still like and use some of the ones listed as arcane. I just read an essay on irony online that was in Huffington Post or some such. I can't think of it as outdated, although the definition here seems to need an update. I don't believe this incidentally. I 've found that poetry has a purpose in saving some words from being
entirely ignored.

I don't believe it either. I was poking fun at myself, as I've set myself the task of using all these old and unusual words. I included irony in the list separately, not because it's outdated, but because it helps to explain why the poem shouldn't be taken seriously :) Many thanks for reviewing. Craig

I love your double limirick.I love reading and writing limericks but I've never seen a double one before. I think they are one of the best ways of writing Humour and yours is no exception.

Love the sentiments behind your thoughts full of new words from your treasured book. You said something profound here though. Sarcasm comes to mind, great stuff, love Dolly x

Very true, but the sarcasm is only directed at myself ;-) Many thanks, Dolly, for the lovely review. Craig
