This isn't as woman you would want to cross or have anything to do with! A cold hearted frozen person by the sounds of it. I always thought this word meant a group of people, ie: delegates at a conference. Hope she thaws soon, love Dolly x

A very natural mistake, Dolly. The word is "degelation", not "delegation". Yes, I read it that way too, as I'm sure everyone does. I had to check at least ten times as I was writing, just to make sure I'd used the right one. Cheers, Craig

Oh I am so sorry! I must be dyslexic! He he he, sorry for the mistake! I must need new glasses! A very clever word and very unusual too! That book of yours is quite something! Love Dolly x

Great job on this poem, Craig. I hope it's not a real-life ex or a woman that you know/knew because she sounds like a real b**ch.
Six stars for doing a magnificent job with the internal rhyming in the first and third lines of each of your stanzas. Not an easy feat. You mastered it beautifully!
This was a terrific way to introduce the word "degelation" to your reader.
I laughed at your note ... "A failed love poem attempt" ... your muse seems to have a mind of her own. :)
Exceptional! ~~ Connie

Well, there are so many love poems floating about at the moment, for some odd reason. I did consider making it an entry in the Valentine's contest. Imagine my disappointment when I learned they were only taking acrostics!
Thanks for the lovely review, and the shiny stars, Connie. Both mean a lot. Cheers, Craig

The same thing happened to me, Craig. I was wanting to write a sonnet of sorts for the Valentine's contest, and much to my dismay discovered it was an Acrostic Valentine contest ... okay ... back to the drawing board. :)
Your poem is terrific! I think it might have won if entered into a contest.

My decision to review this piece was based entirely on the title, despite the paltry 27-cent bribe. I seldom actually LOL, but it brings a smile to my face every time I think of it.
You're a funny guy, CD, with an estimable vocabulary, manifested largely in your adroit rhyming.
I hope the woman of whom you wrote is entirely a product of your imagination.

Thanks so much, Don. I do feel bad about offering so little reward. It's a matter of time. On average, I'd say I review 15-20 poems and stories to get that one miserly certificate, and even that involves more time than I've got lol I suppose I need to visit the promotions page more often.
I really appreciate the lovely comments, and the delightful rating.
Cheers,
Craig

You're welcome, Craig. I was kidding about that pitifully beggarly payment for my sterling review, but I was serious about everything else.

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. The words have a nice flow and cadence to them, making it fun to read. The sentiments are ones I could relate to. I love the challenge you have created for yourself in penning a poem featuring the word of the day. Great idea!
Thank you for your definition of the word degelation. When I finished your work I reached for my trusty Webster to see what this word meant. Daniel had not included this word, and even my computer shows it as being spelled wrong! Always good to learn new/old words!
A very nicely done piece. Good work!

I've found most of the words in this little book don't appear in any of the common dictionaries. Thanks very much for the lovely comments, Susan. Much appreciated - Craig
