Hi, Craig,

I read through this poem. It was effectively vague, while being potentially scandalous. Carries the theme of the word of the day, while also dangling juicy hints of maybe nonexistent gossip, or ... not nonexistent... but just a mater of this type of thing being everywhere, since there's always someone somewhere doing something shady. My curious mind tends to skim about the edges of paranoia to contemplate the between the lines truths.

The rhymes and pace worked well, it set the tone for drawing people to the watercooler. Then, after you lay the foundation for the feelings one might get hearing that.... pssst... let me tell you the dirty dirt on someone I know, so you don't get burned, while not naming them directly ... so I don't stir the pot too hard, you give the effect the name insinuendo and the poem falls into place.

But who was the devious person? : D I kid.
No need to tell me. : O Unless it's me... Oh, I'm horrible at watercoolers. Someone might start with insinuendos, but end up having to pull out charts and sock puppets to help me understand what's actually going on. (and usually, insinuendos are just a coy way of saying ... ask me what I'm talking about so I can spill the dirt)

Only observation I noted that might be a typo. Through the whole poem, punctuation and capitalization looked consistant, but in the last set of the poem... first words were capitalized, and I wondered if that was on purpose, or if you switched to a different scheme inadvertantly... with capitalizing the last 'It's' and 'Insane.'

LOL Turtle. Several people have asked the question. I can only think that means I did well, lol

Yes, I messed up that last stanza something fierce - it was way past my bedtime by then - that's my excuse anyway. Or maybe, just maybe, someone (who shall remain nameless) deliberately sabotaged it? ;-)

Oh, they are there, all right... like Charles. Can't tell by looking or listening, but watch what they do. I wonder how many folks you can trust when it counts. Three out of five? More like three of twenty. I've been shocked many times by people I thought I knew after half a lifetime. So insinuendo might by more often right than not.

You got a very nice book for Christmas, that made you make this poem. They are indeed linguistic curiosities. I agree with your idea, would like that. I think in Dutch we have even more of these words.

Thank you for reviewing, I'm grateful for your comments. I suspect you're right, because my understanding is that a lot of German words are composites; and I think Dutch is similar in some respects? Much appreciated - Craig
