Well I've never heard of that word but I will try to remember it, good word and it could come up in a quiz one day. I like your acrostic sonnet a lot. It is very cute and humorous.
Best wishes Jen.

Well you certainly did marvels with this particular
word of the day. It also so happens that I often feel
like the descriptions of your poem. I think it is a very
lucky thing that this should have been your Christmas
present. I wish someone would think of giving something
as useful as this, lol!
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments. I think it's about $10 on Amazon if you get the urge to treat yourself (no, I'm not known to the author, or on any sort of retainer lol). Much appreciated, Craig

A very well-written acrostic poem. Many people love to receive post in the mail. It is the first time I hear about someone who is afraid to receive mail.
Typo unless you meant it to read like this
Or even drop by for a spot[pot] of tea;

Hi Sandra,
Pot would work equally well, although spot is a common saying in these parts, too (it basically just means "a bit").
Many thanks for being on the lookout, and for your kind comments.

I have never met anyone who has this phobia, but you capture the persona of the narrator wonderfully as she speaks to us. The use of rhyme in this acrostic is natural, not forced. Fun to meet her. Rod

Thanks very much for the kind words, Rod. I don't have so much a phobia of reading, but I do have one for writing - I think it also goes by the name of "laziness" :) Cheers, Craig

I would imagine this difficult to write, but you have done a fine job! On this site I am learning many forms of poetry, and this is one more. I think we have lost something special with the onset of the internet and the decline of written mail.... in the old days it was delicious to walk to the mail box and find a wrinkled letter addressed to oneself! What joy to sit under a tree and read the words written by hand... that personal touch. Nicely done!

Thanks very much for the lovely review, and sharing your enjoyment of the written word. I must admit I love receiving mail, as long as it doesn't look "official" - then I worry, without real cause, I might add! I'm just far too lazy when it comes to sending it. Much appreciated - Craig
