Some clever and amusing rhymes in this are its making. I was drawn in by your title too. I have read a great many immodest limericks in my time but this is the first modest one!

A very well-written Limerick. If we do not promote ourselves or what we are able to do, no-one will ever know about our abilities. When we over promote we can stand ashamed when what we promote is not worthwhile.

This is an exquisitely etched Limerick that reminisces how a man's unequalled show of craftiness and excellence in finding solutions to the problems of humanity could sometimes be perceived as a show of pride.

The does not only epitomise the protagonist's humility in carrying out his enterprise, but transparently conjures his having excelled beyond criticism.

The work earns its texture through the use of imagery.

Outstanding work! Unfortunately I do not now have the stars to award you. More of this, please. Keep the flag flying!

Hello, this is enjoyable reading and a clever limerick. And great use of the word, Barnumism ... which I have never heard of before, but in your author notes you fill in the gaps, and I think it is a great idea for your 'potpourri of poetic curiosities'...great name btw.

I will keep my eyes open for other chapters. Words are wonderful things, as you know, thanks for the poem, Ana.

You and a few others I know, Craig. Sounds like a politician I know. You realize that I probably will not remember all these new words, don't you? Really flows effortlessly. Perfectly rhymed. Thank you for sharing

What a fun rhyme and word. How amazing Barnum got a word for his name. He was an interesting guy. Did you see the film?

Fine presentation with apt artwork. Good limerick style. Bouncy beat, clever rhyming.

Warmly,
rd

I'm not sure, RD. I don't recall seeing a film about him in recent years, so if it's not an old one, then probably not. I may have seen something years and years ago, but I really don't have any sound recollection. Thanks for the kind review. :) Craig
