Thanks very much Dolly. Most grateful, always. Craig

A very well-written poem about how badly we treat our earth over the centuries. There are many things we did wrong and it seems it may be impossible to reverse any of the damages that was done.

Thanks so much Sandra. Yes, much of it is irreversible. We can't bring back all the species we've wiped out, for a start. Much appreciated - Craig

This is a great poem with an incredible subject matter. I loved your creativity and the words flow easily off the tongue while reading aloud. Great job on this!

Ah, so the root must be from French 'main' for hand - being caught red-handed so to speak. Good message as we do need to make changes in how we care for the planet.

My little book tells me you are correct - it's actually a corruption of the French term "main oeuvre" - handiwork. Thanks for reviewing :) Craig

I would have thought that was the etymology for "maneuver." I guess both could have the same origins.

Indeed it is :)

My mind doesn't want to accept the future of a child as a stolen OBJECT. I'd reword that I think. But the idea is certainly good. I often wish we lived a few hundred years ago like the Indians (PC alert: Native Americans) did, eating simple basics that are easily grown and hunted, living among virgin trees a hundred feet tall. I just want to visit, not live there, of course. I'd miss my computer and FanStory too much. :)
