Hi, Craig,
Your Tanka about the man is lovely. I like that you included a photo of a baboon because it does seem that everywhere else in the animal kingdom, compassion is exercised continuously.
Another new word for my collection - thanks,

In pretty much every species bar one it seems natural, rather than the exception, Patty. Many thanks for the great comments - and I hope you don't have any more nasty scares for a long time. Look after yourself :) Craig

This tanka, The Curse, has the right look and reminds me more specifically of mismatched people (in my opinion, of course) who keep each other from being who they want to be.

Thanks very much, Bill. Compassion would include allowing and encouraging others to be in charge of their own destiny, I would think. And you're right, for reasons I don't fully get, the world seems full of people who can't abide that. Much appreciated - Craig

This Tanka poem is perfectly penned with no flaws. The message is poignant and portrays a solution to this state of "stone".
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Brigitte
