I love this. I wasn't expecting that ending. That was a really cool ending. No one's gonna breach your citadel.
This was the first word of all your words that I actually knew the meaning of. You ought to compose a quiz to see how many curious words that people have learned from you. Everybody reads your posts.

I might have to do that, Debbie. I know I've learned a heap of new words, and forgotten more than I've learned already :)
Many thanks for the kind words, Craig

We would have fun with a semester exam.
Comment from Gloria ....
A terrific poem and written in pristine metre and rhyme and who wouldn't love to have a citadel in the mind to escape from the madding crowd?
Great social commentary friend, Craig, and a pleasure to read and review.

Hello, how often do you see an 'insulet'? Living in the middle of Australia must take you quite a while to get to a little island, lol. But it shows you what a good imagination you have in this lovely verse, so smooth and unforced. Great imagery as you seek to use this very obscure word in your poem and you use it very effectively. I enjoy your poetry.
Hope you have a good day inland, we are in for some cold weather which will be lovely as it has been a warm winter so far.
Thanks for sharing your poem which I found a pleasure to read and review, Ana.

Well, I don't make it to the coast too often these days, but I have seen my fair share of islands in the past. I even have some memory of them - unlike remembering what I went to the fridge for by the time I get the door open :) Long-term memory works much better than short term for me these days lol
Many thanks for the lovely comments, Ana.

My husband laughed at me yesterday because I talked about flotsam and jetsam...he'd never heard of that...is that in your linguistic curiosity book. He thinks I made it up.
I like your poem about insult...curses auto correct... insulet

Thanks for the fun review, Jenny. I don't know if it's in the book. It doesn't have an index, and I'm too lazy to read through 170 entries or so to find out. But I'm sure it's in the dictionary. Or Google would find it for him in a second :) Cheers, Craig
