This is just AWESOME!! :) ;) :) Your prose and your rhyme are so very enjoyable...it's hard to believe you were "constrained" by the word itself -- great job! :) :) :)
I sent the link to my son in law school who is a true over-the-top rail fan -- always has been since before he could walk! :) :)
Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece with all of us!

Well, you can tell him I don't really have a "thing" against trains lol
Many thanks for the lovely review - hope your son gets a giggle from it.
Cheers, Craig

He certainly did - said he'd never heard of it before! It's a rare day when you can catch that one with something he did not know about trains!! :) ;) Have a great day, sir! Yvette :)

You captured the challenge so well. I love how you incorporate the different forms of travel with such detail. The punch at the end is very funny and ends the poem on such a delightful upbeat note.

This is a poetic gem - brand new word - - never knew there was such a fear - the skill and wordsmith techniques required to address the phobia in Acrostic format are impressively achieved

Hi, Craig,
Great poem and a wonderful expression of the fear that deprives some folks of the joys of travel.
I love to travel so much that when my anxiety about flying or driving became too much, I asked my doctor for some help. They sent me to hypnosis classes, so while I'm asleep for the plane ride or car ride (not as the driver, of course,) I still get to go places.
Thank you for another new word,
~patty~

Many thanks for the kind comments, Patty. I'm relieved to hear you're not asleep while driving! I have experienced "micro-sleeps" on long trips once or twice, and it's a scary thing. Most grateful - Craig

This speaks you never to travel by train, for you ever fear boarding and travelling by train, you fear and feel nervous going through tunnels in the dark, you wish to walk instead; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR
