Hello there, Craig
Nice little limerick you've written here, although I think it's supposed to be [officially speaking] 9-9-6-6-9-.
You forgot to add what a thither is, I gather though that it means, 'there'
I see that you are one of, Trump's number one fan's... :)
What an incredibly terrible creature, he is. He is the epitome of all that is rotten in this world, truly.
I see that you are also a lover of words. Have you by any chance, read any of Mark Forsyth's books on the subject? He writes or used to write for the Times. Hilariously funny reads in his trilogy of language. Right up your street, I imagine. He's clever, witty and downright mad :)
Kind regards
trimple

Hi Trimple,
This one is 9-9-6-9-10, as is this very famous one:
there was a young lady from Niger
who smiled as she rode on a tiger
they came back from the ride
with the lady inside
and the smile on the face of the tiger
It's not uncommon to have different syllable counts, the important thing is it scans smoothly. (Also, some sites say they must be anapestic meter, but many are iambic).
Also, "thither" is indeed defined in the notes at the bottom.
I do love mad (not in the Trump sense though), so I appreciate the suggestion, and will try to remember to keep an eye out for Mr Forsyth's work.
Thanks for the kind comments - appreciated :)

Hi Craig
Bugger me, so it is... The 'tither' I mean. I beg ya pudding.
My bad regards to the limerick count. I guess I shouldn't assume what people say is so :)
Mark Forsyth really is worth looking up. The satire in his rather educational books is second to none.
all the best

Well you gone and done it, I had to give this one a six for originality and just a whole lot of laughter. Very well done and love the rhyme and overall 'funness'

Thanks so much for the very generous rating, and for the great comments, too. If it made you smile, then I consider the job done :) Cheers, Craig

Hello. Nice to see you tonight. This is fast and I know it has a certain rhythm??? Is it a limerick? No, probably not, I'm an ignoramus with forms, lol It sounds like a jingle, I'm sure you'll know.
I liked this though, all that hither and thithering was fun, and of course, there's the reference to Trump. I always wonder, this will make me sound frivolous but I can't help what I think, with all that money, why doesn't someone tell him he's too orange and that hair, it defies belief. It goes to show that no matter how much money, you can't buy good taste and style, lol
Thanks for sharing your writing, cheers, Ana.

No, you're spot on - it's a limerick :)
I don't think anyone has ever accused him of good taste or style lol
Many thank, Ana.
