What a wonderful topic and message. I miss that in society we are losing the art of handwriting and sending a personal letter via the mail. I still enjoy receiving mail from the older generation in my family who do not use computers. I will have a tangible piece of history to "hold" onto. Beautiful poem and a nice sentiment too.

I still have a letter I wrote to my parents more than 50 years ago. My mother kept it for over 20 years, and it was in a little tin box of memories I received when she died. Reading that letter is like hearing the words of my childhood self coming back to me. Many thanks, Cindy.

An interesting word. How little time it takes to write a short note and how valued such things can be. It seems that with the advent of more and more sophisticated means of communications, the letterling, or textling, is sadly seldom used.
I like the way you've woven it into your poem and the implicit message of your composition. Enjoyed.

Great sonnet, my friend! I could identify with so many of the lines in this one - from not quite believing there were 24 hours in a day, to convincing myself I can put off contacting a loved one for just one more afternoon. Great piece.

Ah, yes, gone are the days when epistemology ruled peoples' lives. Now time is flooded by social media and maybe even this writing site instead of writing letterlings to loved ones.

I still have the first, and one of the very few, letters I wrote my mother. It's over 50 years old now, and she's been dead for thirty. But, she chose to keep it, all those years ago. Cheers, Craig
