A very well-written poem about the emergency numbers of different countries where the number repeats one number three times it us called repdigit that makes it easy to remember and to make a quick emergency call.

Thanks very much, Sandra. What's the emergency code in south Africa? Cheers, Craig

This is a very well written and very informative poem telling of the number to dial when you are in a different country for help. It's still 911 here. This is very interesting to know. Great job my friend! Blessings, Teri

Very interesting use of your word of the day. The poem really has a smooth flow and doesn't sound stilted. Interesting info too. I never knew the emergency numbers were different in every country. Canada, like the US, also has 911.

Thanks very much, much appreciated. I didn't know Canada's number, but I'm not likely to forget it now :)

Very good. The U.S. always seems to find ways to do things the hard way. In many ways it is a backward county. You told a great story in that poem. Good luck in the future.

Oh, they're not alone. In the dozen or so I've come across, I'd say it's about 50% use repdigits, and 50% don't :) Many thanks, Craig

Wow! That car's got legsss! I suppose in these days of political correctness, Porsche can'r drape a shapely blonde over the bonnet any more. Good thing I didn't need the emergency services while I was in the US!
Another layer of confusion is caused by 112, an international standard emergency number which can only be dialled on a digital mobile phone. It is accepted as a secondary international emergency number in some parts of the world, including Australia.

I didn't know that about 112, Tony. How odd it's not better publicised (or maybe it is, and I've just been off in my little world, and not noticed). Many thanks, Craig

Hello CD Richards, A fun and interesting look at the various ways each country handles emergency phone calls. I think that it would also be interesting to know the average response time of each county to these calls. Good rhyming within. A thought-provoking poem. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

"Hello, emergency, hold the line please..."
Thanks for the great review - Craig

Haha! Well this is packed with originality as always Craig coupled up with a new word and new information for me to absorb. When you think about it, it IS easier to just keep pressing the same button for an emergency if you don't quite have all your faculties or are close to passing out or over. Trying to locate the nine and then the one I think would certainly give me grief...I'd probably dial 991 or 919...no maybe 199 or is it 119? Oh shit, I'm confused.
Yep, better just make it triple 9 or triple 1.
Better still, don't worry about it. I DON'T plan to go to America as I would probably be dialling that number no sooner than I landed going by THEIR gun laws.
Yep, I like Oh, Oh, Oh hahaha
Well done champ!
Great to be stalki...oops I mean following you LOL
To stalk, I'd have to be reading every post LOL
Give me time haha
Cheers P

You are spoiling me with all these lovely reviews, Phillippa -- but please don't take that as a criticism, or reason to stop!
My other half asked me the other night why I was sitting out here going "oh oh oh". I said I was just reading my poem aloud. I can't believe she thought I was lying!
Stalk away, lol
Truly grateful,
Craig
