Some deft rhyming here and well-tuned humour! The mixture of paregoric with gin and tonic appears to have made you notorious, though not necessarily better. Great fun!

CD,
What fun!
Some of your words might be archaic, but to write your poem along that same them is close to genius. I enjoyed this so much.
The rhyme and flow were spot on and I loved the Vicar's and his wife's staid opinions on these matters.
What fun!!
Thanks for the smile!

Hi Robyn,
Thanks so much for the wonderfully kind comments, and the lovely sparkly stars. I'm so happy you enjoyed the poem, and more than that, astonished you had a six left on this the last day of the week!
Most grateful,
Craig

A very clever and funny poem! The rhyming was good and the whole thing flowed well. It also taught me a new word (paregoric). Humorous poems are difficult to do so well done!

A clever piece. I enjoyed the flow of your poem. The use of your rhyming words here is impressive. I love the idea behind the word of the day. How clever! A job well done on this!

A very well-written poem about the easy addiction to pain killers and other drugs to numb the mind and the pain that often push the body to its limits. I had severe pain in my foot for three months and had to take pain killers three times a day, now the pain is under control, I only take the pain killers when the pain is too much, maybe once a day.

I'm sorry to hear that you have had such a nasty time with the pain, Sandra. I'm glad to hear it's not as bad as it was, and I hope your pain killers don't have the nasty effects the ones in this story did. Thanks for reviewing :) Craig
