Ha! Your piece tickles me. I relate. You've written this well. You have a knack for rhythm and rhyme.
Some people and their stone cold faces...you'd think they're practicing for a funeral.
You know, there's a brain disorder involving damage to the right frontal lobe which causes the victim to harbor an untamable and incessant impulse to spout humorous speech. Witzelsucht, it's called. It's sounds fake.
Attempts at making people laugh tends to backfire more than we'd like. "Meaning well" doesn't count for much. Don't stop trying, though. Someone's day is waiting to be made, and it can only be made by someone like you.

You just *knew* I'd have to Google it, didn't you? Not because I didn't believe you, but because I wanted to know more. I knew when I got hit on the head by that cricket ball back in year 5, it must have done something bad, now I know what. A fantastic description by Marx. And you were clever enough to use it. I loves the humor. The rhymes were really well done. I liked how easy it was to read. I could find no errors. You've done a good job and I always enjoy your word of the day poems! Beaglepuss is a cool word!

A very well-written poem. Every serious event has a funny side, there is always a few that can see the humor to make the day more fun for everyone involved. We also get those who cannot see the humor in the funniest things.
