Comment from Gloria ....
For the love of ... Poor little cow, but this is likely even playing it lightly for the horror the animals actually go through before they are cut up into slabs of meat for the civilized dinner table.
This is a terrific acrostic poem, Craig and apropos for the upcoming grisly Halloween.
Did you forget to block your standards again?
Much enjoyed. :)

Yep, an oversight I've now corrected. Many thanks, Gloria :)

Wow, when you go dark you don't fool around. Not being a poetry guy i have no clue what you were writing style here. But if you intended to shock and awe, you succeeded. Nice job.

Thanks very much, appreciated.

This poem is well written and graphically scary. I remember reading a little about Jack the ripper in high school, I believe. Keep up the good work! Lisa Heath

Thanks.

Well, that's pretty gory. I suppose that Jack the Ripper is the perfect model for the word, trucidation. Since it derives from the word for "slaughter," your poem ending with "meat" is appropriate.

Well, the poem isn't literally about Jack the Ripper, and Daisybell isn't a woman, but "meat" really is "meat". Thanks, Helen.

Well, it certainly is gruesome. Well written, and I found no errors. Where did the artwork come from?
I believe they never caught him. Is that correct?
Nothing to suggest in the way of improvements. I think you captured the cold and gruesome lack of emotion of the Ripper very well.

Hi Jan,
I found the photo of the real letter on Wikimedia Commons - it's public domain.
No, they never caught him. There are endless theories about who it might have been.
However, this poem wasn't really about Jack the Ripper :)
Cheers,
Craig
