What a write! The tone and tenor of this piece made me imagine Vincent Price reading it aloud a la "Thriller"--only with sophisticated rhymes and meter! Ghoulishly delish! A shiver in me boots sort of Halloween tale that I can't imagine won't be wildly popular in the contest!

What a buzz that would be for any poet... to have Vincent Price reading their work. Thanks to you, I'm now imagining it too. Most grateful for the wonderful comments, Karenina; happy Halloween to you! Craig

He could have made the telephone book sound creepy--so imagine what he'd have done with YOUR excellent poem!

Hi there Craig
I loved reading your Halloween story in a poem especially the last line which summed it all up. I am sure you will do very well in the competition. Good luck and best wishes. Jen.

This wonderfully scribed, fashioned, shaped and cut to fit the standards of poetry writing, intrigued me. It reminded me of a book, written by Stephen King, were the devil had defeated God,, but in so doing, he'd cursed himself to an eternity of being both God and Satan, because without good, evil has no meaning. Likewise, where there is greater evil, lesser must bow to it. Well done, good job, blessings, Roy

Thanks so much, Roy. I'm not familiar with that book, but like most people I'm quite partial to a bit of Stephen King; so I'll have to look it up. I really appreciate the lovely comments. Cheers, Craig

I read it many years ago, can't remember it's name, but I'll always remember the theme. And, a pleasure to read Craig,

Hello, Author. You certainly paint vivid pictures with your writing.
I have reviewed many of these for the contest, and in my opinion yours is the winner by far:
Lines like this are the reason why:
"The scouts had found a creature that the ghouls were scared to see,
and swore they couldn't wait to show this home of ours their backs.
Good job. Bob

A first in the philosophy of Halloween, where the various members of the ghoulish generation has prime of place, as well their parts in it.
This is the first time I have read such a coverage.
A different take...and why not.
A lot of imagery projected here.
Here is for wishing all a great Halloween, and if this is anything to go by, it will be a blast for many.
My best wishes.

Very interesting piece CD. Reminds me the book of Revelation because evil intentions of all of your different demons being led by Beelzebub himself to impose their insidious will on all of humanity. Enjoyed the twist at the end that as nefarious as your : gorgons, shapeshifters, and banshees are they can't compete with the malevolent cruelty of mankind. Great job with with poem.

All the evil the galaxy could muster were gathering in one place to attack our planet earth, but the evil they encountered here scared them off. LOL What a great idea for a Halloween poem. If this poem doesn't win I will be surprised. Great imagery rhyme and meter Craig. I have a six. Well done ! :>)Nancy
