This is a cute poem about cleaning out memories of children out of the house. Maybe the speaker should donate the bears to charity after giving one each of his/her young grandchildren.

Keep writing

Joan

Oh my goodness -- Katie must have A LOT of bears!! :) ;) This is such delightful write, Bill, from the perspective of a parent or grandparent -- so much love pf family wrapped up in-between the phrases and stanzas! :) Great rhythm and flow -- easy, just like family should be!! :) ;) Thanx for sharing that with all of us! :) :) Yvette :)

Thanks, Yvette. I'd keep the bears forever if I could.

He he he, I liked the sentiments here Bill, I remember clearing up my kids soft toys and wishing I could throw them all in the rubbish bin! They were everywhere! A fun post to read today, Love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. This is an exaggeration, but not by much.

I used to collect bears too, until one day they mysteriously disappeared. No one knew where they had gone! Hmm. I enjoyed this fun poem, Bill, it brought back a few childhood memories. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Bill. This gets six stars for cuteness alone. Oh, by the way, the meter is great and the rhyme whimsically creative and original. I guess stuffed bears are a problem when they crowd you out of the place. Thank you for sharing

Oh no! I guess Katie is a true arctophile! I thought the kids were supposed to be packing up the parents stuff. Oh, I guess that comes later. Meanwhile, I guess we parents have to keep storing their stuff. Fun poem and creative rhymes. (bruins/doin' and darlin/garland)

Not too much of an e aggregation either. We called her Katie Bear from birth, so she was inundated with bears for twenty years.

Really cute. Put a big smile on my weary old face. Katie has as many stuffed animals as my own Katy had as a child. The only one that went with her into marriage is Peter Rabbit, complete with blue jacket. We all stay kids inside. We just learn how to act in public.

Yes, you?re right. This is only a slight exaggeration. We use her room for Christmas storage now, but her closet is lined with bears of every description, the ceiling high shelves that circle the bedroom are full of them, and there are three huge Rubbermade tubs full.

LOL This is too funny... bears, bears, everywheres!!! LOL... the "reefer" was full... good thing now... you're going to need what was in it since you found... more bears!!! LOL Having had but one child myself, I know how the stuffed animal brigade can grow before you can get any control over it. However, in my home that's no longer an issue... we've moved on to Legos! They get stored in Ziplock bags in storage boxes. I think we're up to the fourth box. I got payback on my sister with Barbie shoes... tiny high heels that get stuck in your carpet and you step on in your bare feet... toys are good for some things! Presents for nieces. lol I do love the bear thing though... you may have to start donating some just to make room in reefer box!

I was going through the house putting up Christmas decorations and entered my daughter's old room. The walls, closet. chests. They are going to her house. Our granddaughter is three now and would probably be beside gerself. Katie would be also, but with a different tone.

This made me smile! I think stuffed animals (or bears in your case) multiply when we're not looking! This was such a cute poem capturing this real life situation. Just so realistic... don't think I have an empty tub either! Thanks for sharing this great little piece. Great job on the rhythm of this and the rhyme too!

A most resourceful solution for all those adorable bears, that huge box that
held rescue for them all! Good thing there is still more room in there for
more bears, no doubt they'll be joining ones already happily there.
Cute story, fun solution, and happy ending and storing for all!
Thanks for sharing....keep writing, this was a fun read....
Best wishes, Ronni
