This poem, Respect Your Parents, takes us right back to King David and his long-haired ne'er do well. Oh Absalom, Absalom you were such a stinking brat.

Wow -- I fear that there are alot of those out there these days....but, sadly, there are a lot of 'dads' that are capitulating to the behavior......kindof a feed the beast' motif going on...ugh. :) :) Thanx for such a fun little rhyme and a great new word that I plan on putting to good use! ! Yvette

I like these words of the day, and you certainly use them well, this is an excellent poem describing Master-Daddy, very well written with great artwork and explanatory notes****kahpot

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Dolly. I'm not hoping to outdo my parents in any way other than longevity :) Most grateful, Craig

I love that artwork, Craig. What medium is it, do you know? Well I personally think you should explain the story of incestual rape, murder, arson and lust for power. LOL. Kidding. I already know.

That said another fine poem from your quill. :)

    Hi Gloria,

It's a picture scanned from a book held by the Library of Congress -- The Bible Panorama, by William Foster (1891). It is in the public domain. You can find other details you might want here:

Intriguing word! There are quite a few of these master-daddies around these days! Spoilt brats! Not sure which I enjoyed most - your poem or your author notes summarising the biblical tale.
