I knew the presence of God even before my decision to serve Him, (service is such a tenuous word, can we dedicate and serve enough? I believe we all do what we can.) I sometimes feel rejected by the world, and withdraw, but I think this happens to all people, but not by God, He craves the company of Adam, as in the garden! Beautifully written and testified Sally, blessings, Roy

I remember reading the tale of your encounter with the dog - I wonder if that man realizes the lasting impression he made on you.

I love reading people's accounts of their faith journey's - hey may or may not resemble my own, but it seems that there is always something to take away from them and it's reassuring to know that we are all trying to make sense of our lives in light of what we believe about God.

Thanks for sharing this one.

Thank you so much for the excellent review and kind comments. My mother tried to locate the man to thank him. She was never able to find him. I asked God to thank him for me and bless his life real good. That dog was going in for the kill when my rescuer appeared. I am so glad if this encourages you in your faith and draws you closer to Him.

Thanks so much for sharing your testimony here, Sal! I remember the dog bite story so that was easy to refer to. So glad that you always felt God's watching over you even those times we don't feel close to Him, He's always near.

Question:
" I never spoke of my doctor's name." (rescuer's?) The person who saved you not your doctor, right?

Thank you, dear Helen. I tidied that section up a bit to clarify. I hope it helps. I rewrote that section late in day and I could tell this morning in the light. I appreciate the critique and kind supportive review.

God and I have our ups and downs. We just came back up from a down I think. I was raped as a young kid for many years and it was hard to figure out. Why would God let that happen? Where was He? Did he not care? It went on and on. I got into a lot of bad things and when I moved to Virginia to get away from everything for awhile. That's when I found the church that changed my life. I started finding God there. God and I will continue to have our ups and downs. I've found an amazing Pastor who has been able to answer most of my God questions with good answers. You did a great job with job this. Sorry if I rambled.

Thank you for the outstanding review. Most of all, thank you for bearing your soul to me as I am but a stranger to you. I am glad if this article brought you to me and we will no longer be strangers. I am so glad to hear of your healing and delivering from your attacker. I am praying as I write this to you, that God?s love will overcome you, healing every hurt and sorrow. I my best girlfriend was raped for seven years as a young child by a family member. She came to Christ and forgave him. It was not an overnight process, but she is an amazing whole woman who walks with God. I send you my love and blessings today. Thank you again for the kind review of my work.
    Love,

This post is a moving account of your faith. You seem to have acquired it originally by observing the splendor of nature, just as Native Americans and others living in the "wild" did. Then you had the experience of rescue by one who reasonably could be considered an "Earth Angel" because, even if he was just a kind and selfless man who happened to know where best to take you, the timing of his arrival is the key element. Later on, when you were feeling disconnected from God, your new friend showed up at school, again with perfect timing. So, yes, you are truly blessed, and not alone.

Your picture of the near total solar eclipse of 2017 is most appropriate, as only the unique combination of the moon's size and distance makes that event possible as seen. Superb.

Thank you for the outstanding marks and insightful review. I am overwhelmed. It is true I saw God much like the Native Americans appreciating His glory written in the skies. I specifically chose this stunning photo from my astronomy collection as my finest offering. I have one more I am saving for later that will surely move you, as well.

Thank you, again, for your kind words.

    All my best,
    Sal :+))

You are most welcome, Sal. People who live in cities, and rarely (if ever) look into the sky or visit forests, don't know what they are missing.

Yes, you are fortunate to have such a good picture of the 2017 eclipse. I watched it through special glasses too. Astronomy is one of my interests too, so I'm sure I'll like your other photo as well. -- Mike

The solar eclipse was an amazing sight and I?m so glad you were able to view it. I lead the family with my zeal. Jack bought the solar viewing glasses on line and we drove two hours to visit our grandkids to equip them for the event. I had my eye pad set with timeanddate.com and when Jackson saw it was near totality, we ran out and viewed it. (My eyes are super sun sensitive due to my damaged retinas.) I was able to see it without my regular glasses which is a modern-day miracle in itself. I can?t even see the eye chart at my optician?s office. We watched the rest on time and date, as it was cloudy and raining where we were before and after totality. Awesome!!

I'm delighted you were able to see it as well as have such a good picture. It must have been a treat for your grandkids, too. -- Mike

I have infected them with my enthusiasm and love for the heavenly displays. I am known to give random pop quizzes on astronomy at the dinner table. I can?t seem to stump my grandson, Tyler. He is following my lead. :+)
reply by WalkerMan on 16-Apr-2019
Ha! Maybe Tyler will grow up to be a great astronomer and make some new discoveries, or just enjoy it as a lifelong hobby. Just having an appreciation for the natural world will shape his character in a positive way. You and Jackson are passing your blessings forward. -- Mike

I think Tyler has many gifts in this life as all my grandkids seem to possess. I think I am biased though! I am sure you are, too!

Respectively: yes, justifiably so, and of course. :))

Ed's pic was the perfect compliment to your testimonial here, Sal -- that light just peaking around the darkness that was created by an object... it is not the light that goes away, it is us who place objects in its way that blocks the light from our lives. The light's always there -- trying to shine, trying to be there -- we just have to open our hearts and let it in again. thanx for such a beautiful piece, ma'am -- you must have been inspired today! :) ;) Yvette

Thank you so much, dear Yvette. Yes, the photo is one of favorites from my astronomy library. The light overtakes the darkness and shines so brightly, but I was able to see it with special glasses on for just a few seconds. It was marvelous! It was a miracle for me with my terrible eyesight. I am blessed you enjoyed this and I thank you for the gracious, insightful review.

Sal, exceptional in all aspects. Well written, excellent flow, and a beautiful story that held my interest.

I enjoyed how you described the acknowledgment of God in your life in your childhood years; later, the straying of your soul as you got wrapped up in the things of life; the period when you felt isolated from God and need to feel Him beside you; how you asked the Holy Spirit to come into your heart and reside; and life and relationship with God thereafter.

God does indeed use angels. I look forward to reading about your experience.

This is beautiful, glorifies our Father, and is a seed planted. Lovely :)

This is a very well written piece about your experiences. I began chatting with God when I was very small, and I've always felt a presence that stays with me everywhere all the time.

It's wonderful to have God in our lives. So much to appreciate that He's given us. Thanks for sharing this. I loved reading it.

Hi Sal,

Awww, this is such a lovely religious story you have shared with us, my friend.

Your strong religious beliefs are evident throughout your work.

Just one nit:

"house instead of an two bedroom apartment. "

Thank you for sharing your experience. Jan :-)
